Traditional Jewish businesses line up alongside trendy boutiques and hip restaurants that serve international cuisine in this colorful area of Central LA.

Superb retail and dining experiences beckon locals and visitors alike to the Fairfax District. Historically a hub for the Jewish community of Los Angeles, today the Fairfax District attracts a creative, energetic and youthful crowd. Move between the bars and shops of one of LA’s most well-known avenues, spot celebrities and sit in the audience of a live television broadcast.

Stroll along famous Melrose Avenue to discover brand-name outlets, edgy fashion and vintage clothing shops. Beverly Boulevard is great for furniture while Fairfax Avenue is the place for streetwear and rare sneakers. Find chains, flagship stores, high-end retailers and restaurants at The Grove outdoor mall. Traders hawk fresh produce, gourmet food, flowers and jewelry at the daily Original Farmers Market.

Pause for thought at the free Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. Mood lighting, interactive exhibits, audio guides and narratives enhance the poignant journey through this harrowing World War II event. Peruse works by local artists at the Blitzstein Museum of Art, among other independent galleries.

Family-friendly recreation abounds at Pan Pacific Park. This 28-acre (11-hectare) green space features barbecue pits, sports fields, a running track and a children’s playground. Book tickets to be part of the audience of The Late Late Show and The Price is Right at CBS Television City.

Asian restaurants, Jewish delis, pizzerias and teahouses line Fairfax Avenue. Canter’s Deliserves award-winning waffles and has welcomed everyone from Barack Obama to Mick Jagger. After a night out at the bars on Melrose Avenue, spot celebrities while standing in line at the emblematic Pink’s Hot Dogs. Enjoy plays, musicals and stand-up shows at the black-box Zephyr Theatre.

Located in Central LA, Fairfax District is bordered by Beverly Grove, La Brea and Melrose. Public buses travel along the neighborhood’s main avenues and connect it with Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. Park for a fee on the streets or use designated free, limited-hour areas.

Nice girls.
"I was in town for a concert at the Wiltern. I have never stayed here before. It was a nice place. There was an uncountable number of prostitutes in the hotel. If you want one of those, it’s totally the spot. 10 out of 10 would recommend."
